Sustainability
A Better World Starts At Home
Home Furniture Group is embedding sustainable practices across its retail operations, supply chain and corporate activities. Across Amart and Freedom, environmental initiatives focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing waste and strengthening responsible sourcing.
Key programs include the transition away from polystyrene packaging, expanded recycling initiatives, national mattress recycling, improved waste management across stores and distribution centres, and investment in energy‑efficient infrastructure, including solar rollout across retail sites. Digital systems have also been introduced to reduce paper consumption.
The Group continues to strengthen supplier transparency and environmental governance while investing in operational improvements that reduce emissions and support more efficient retail operations. Through these initiatives, Home Furniture Group aims to minimise its environmental footprint while advancing long‑term sustainable growth.
At Home Furniture Group we believe sustainability begins with making products that are designed to last.
Through Amart and Freedom we focus on responsible sourcing and quality materials so the homes we help create today continue to serve families for years to come.

Serving our
Community
Home Furniture Group is committed to making a positive contribution beyond its retail business. Through Amart and Freedom, the Group supports charitable organisations and community initiatives that assist families facing significant challenges.
These partnerships include financial contributions, product donations, team volunteering and long-term collaboration with organisations delivering direct support to those in need. By combining the reach of its national retail networks with the commitment of its team members, the Group aims to make a practical and meaningful difference.
Amart & Ronald McDonald House (Australia): Supporting families when they need it most
Amart has partnered with Ronald McDonald House (Australia) since 2015, supporting families who need to travel away from home so their children can receive specialist medical care. When a child is in hospital, keeping families close matters.
Through fundraising initiatives, furniture donations and hands-on team volunteering, including preparing meals for families, Amart supports Ronald McDonald House in providing care and comfort that helps families stay together and supported during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Freedom & CCI:
Supporting the search for a cure
Freedom had proudly supported the Children’s Cancer Institute for over 25 years in their mission to cure every child of cancer. Through this partnership, Freedom has raised over $4m, or the cost of 27 researchers at the lab bench for a year. This work is focused on improving treatment outcomes for children and families affected by childhood cancer, helping to advance the search for better treatments and, ultimately, cures.
Freedom support includes customer fundraising initiatives such as donations via our myFreedom rewards program and events such as ‘Mug Month’ where the proceed of all mugs sold are donated to CCI.
